September 17 marks World Patient Safety Day. The goal of World Patient Safety Day is to raise global awareness of patient safety and encourage solidarity among the professional community (medical students, nurses, and physicians), patients themselves, their families, and various patient-representative organizations.

The Russian Ministry of Health, together with the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, is implementing an event plan dedicated to World Patient Safety Day 2025. The theme of World Patient Safety Day 2025 is "Safe care for every newborn and every child."
