The capital's Department of Nature Management launches the autumn competition "Moscow Harvest"

12.09.2025

The Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of Moscow invites all residents to take part in the Moscow Harvest competition. This is a great opportunity to share the joy of the harvest, to display the fruits from a summer cottage, greenery from a balcony or flowers from a flower bed near a house and to show the beauty of nature right in the heart of the metropolis. Works for the competition are accepted from September 3 to September 30, and the results will be announced by October 21.

To participate in the competition, you must grow vegetables, fruits, flowers or greenery in an environmentally friendly manner, take high-quality photos and, if desired, a video of your fruits, send them by e-mail to GPXM-eco-project@eco.mos.ru within the specified time frame, and be sure to attach an application and consent to participate. If desired, you can provide the fruits of the harvest to the capital's eco-centers specified in the Competition Regulations.

Based on the results of the competition, the following nominations were established:
1. "The Biggest Fruit" - fruits, tubers, bulbs and other edible parts of plants. The evaluation is based on the size in centimeters. The participant must provide a photo with a measuring tape attached, confirming the size.
2. "The heaviest fruit" is a nomination for those who have grown a particularly heavy harvest. The weight of the fruit, tuber or other edible part of the plant in kilograms is assessed. It is necessary to attach a photo with the image of the weighing result on the scales.
3. "The most unusual fruit" - originality is assessed! This includes specimens that stand out due to their non-standard shape, color, size or other unique characteristics. The main thing is creativity and surprise!
4. "Best Harvest" is a nomination that evaluates the overall impression of the harvest: the number and size of fruits on one plant, their appearance, degree of maturity and variety of grown crops. This is a chance to show the skill of an agronomist and a caring gardener.
5. "The Best Flower Harvest" - a space for creativity! Participants present their flower arrangements: flower beds, flower gardens, pergolas, potted plants and other landscaping elements. Creativity, landscape design (if any), design, harmony of colors, shapes and botanical diversity are assessed.
6. "Audience Choice Award" is a special nomination, the winner of which is determined by voting on social networks. Voting will last from October 1 to October 20, 2025 inclusive. Everyone will be able to support their favorite and help him become a winner!
The winners and prize winners will be determined by an expert jury. The authors of the best works will receive prizes from the organizers.

The results of the competition will be published on official social networks and on the website of the eco-centers of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection of the City of Moscow after the results of the competition are announced.

"Moscow Harvest" is held annually and has already become a traditional event for Muscovites who are interested in gardening and homesteading. Everyone who grows plants, even on a windowsill, contributes to the greening of the city and the formation of a sustainable urban ecosystem.
