Since the beginning of the year, another 255 specialists have become holders of the honorary status of "Moscow Doctor". After simplifying the application procedure, this procedure has become much more convenient for doctors, and interest in the project has grown significantly. Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova congratulated and awarded the specialists on receiving the honorary status.

"Today I want to reward the best of the best. 255 people received the status of "Moscow Doctor". "Moscow Doctor" is not only the title of a competent specialist. Today it is also a quality mark of Moscow medicine. You have proven that you are among the best, have excellent knowledge, skills, abilities, and are familiar with everything new. And most importantly, you are the ones who move Moscow medicine forward. Every day I see what percentage of doctors pass exams and how difficult it is to do it the first time. Therefore, we are proud of you and hope for your further success both in the field of direct patient treatment and in administrative and medical work," the deputy mayor said.

Anastasia Rakova added that "Moscow Doctor" as a nomination has existed for quite a long time, but it is this year that it is acquiring new significance. At the suggestion of the Council of Chief Physicians, possession of the honorary status is now the most important condition for further personnel growth and taking up high positions at the level of each institution.

According to the new rules, 48 specialties can now receive the honorary status instead of 29. To date, more than 350 doctors have already received it.
The most active applicants are surgeons, psychiatrists, pediatricians and anesthesiologists-resuscitators. The monthly payment to holders of the "Moscow Doctor" status working in medical organizations of the Moscow City Health Department has doubled - from 15 to 30 thousand rubles.
The application process has also become much simpler. The doctor no longer needs to collect a package of documents confirming his experience, qualifications, the presence of a valid certificate, professional achievements, and so on. Thanks to digitalization, all the objective information about the doctor's professional activity necessary for the portfolio is loaded directly from the EMIAS system. The data is entered into the digital portfolio by specialists of the Personnel Center.

The Moscow Doctor project was launched in 2017 with the support of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. It is aimed at increasing the prestige of the medical profession and creating additional motivation for doctors to improve their professional level.

To obtain the status of "Moscow Doctor", the applicant must have a certain length of service in the specialty, as well as undergo assessment procedures, during which theoretical knowledge, practical skills and the level of clinical thinking are checked. Objective indicators of the doctor's professional activity are also taken into account.

The assessment tools designed to assess practical skills and theoretical knowledge were completely revised and updated in 2023, taking into account the practical experience of Moscow healthcare. Experts from among representatives of the professional medical community of the capital participated in this work.

During the assessment procedures, the unique simulation and medical equipment of the Personnel Center is used, and the process is monitored by an expert commission, including the main freelance specialists of the Moscow Department of Health.

The Personnel Center of the Moscow City Health Department has no analogues either in Russia or in other Eastern European countries. On an area of more than 4,000 square meters, continuous professional education is carried out, assessment and accreditation events are held for specialists of the capital's health care system. The center is equipped with more than 1,100 units of high-tech simulation and medical equipment. 31 training stations are used to practice practical skills and conduct an assessment of professional competencies. The Personnel Center site is accredited in 89 medical specialties.
