22.10.2024From October 26 to November 2 Moscow will host an autumn college festival for ninth-graders and their parents. This was reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
«From October 26 to November 2, the capital will host the autumn college festival, which for the second year in a row gives schoolchildren and their parents the opportunity to get acquainted with the world of secondary vocational education. Now colleges in Moscow take into account all the needs of young people and modern trends in the labor market, which changes the idea of secondary vocational education. Graduates successfully get jobs in the largest companies of the city, receiving not only attractive working conditions and decent wages, but also real prospects for career growth. The first days of the festival will be held in the Moscow Palace of Pioneers, where a presentation of 48 colleges of the capital will take place and career guidance testing will take place. At the VK lecture hall, children will be able to meet top employers, labor market experts, directors of educational institutions and ask them questions about the most in-demand professions today. Also, dance flash mobs, DJ sets, a photo exhibition of student and graduate achievements, a film festival and a fashion show will be held for schoolchildren. During the week, as part of the festival, ninth-graders will be able to get acquainted with high-tech workshops and laboratories of Moscow colleges, as well as take part in practical master classes and make a choice in favor of a promising profession.", –– the vice-mayor noted.
October 26 and 27 The central venue of the festival will be the Moscow Palace of Pioneers on Vorobyovy Gory, where a presentation of 48 colleges of the capital will take place, and schoolchildren and their parents will have the opportunity to learn about the most popular professions today. Parents and schoolchildren at the VK lecture hall will hear inspiring stories from star speakers, meet top employers, labor market experts and directors of educational institutions. Schoolchildren will undergo career guidance testing, where they will be able to determine their strengths and find out their calling, and will also become participants in practical master classes, in which they will try on various specialties.
Thematic zones such as "Security and Law", "Hospitality", "Healthcare", "Transport", "Information Technology", "Education: Social Sphere", "Construction" and "Industry" will be open for guests. In each space, children will be able to try their hand at the most popular areas on the labor market. In addition, the program includes dance flash mobs, a DJ set, a photo exhibition about the achievements of students and graduates, a film festival of works by film college students and a fashion show.
From October 28 The festival will continue in 48 colleges in Moscow. Schoolchildren will enjoy almost 200 exciting master classes on more than 170 professions in the fields of industry, IT, robotics, creative industries, hospitality, construction, transport and healthcare. Guests will communicate with mentors and employers, take excursions to high-tech workshops and laboratories, and get acquainted with the rich student life of colleges. Participants include Moscow Industrial College, Moscow Technological College, College of Communications No. 54 named after P.M. Vostrukhin, Polytechnic College named after P.A. Ovchinnikov, College of Services No. 10, Police College, Medical College No. 1 and others.
