All-Russian online campaign “Candle of Memory”

On June 22, the Russian Federation celebrates a memorable date - the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow - the day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. On this day, the peoples of Russia mourn their compatriots who became victims of the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 and defended their Motherland at the cost of their lives.

National flags are lowered throughout the country, and entertainment events and programs are canceled throughout the day in cultural institutions, television and radio. One of the key thematic projects of the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow is the All-Russian online campaign “Candle of Memory”.

The goal of the Action is to preserve the historical memory of the Great Victory of our people by involving citizens of the Russian Federation in commemorative events, thereby preserving the continuity of generations of Russians in order to annually remember the 27 million who died during the Great Patriotic War.

The action is being held online, this will allow a large number of our citizens to join the national Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. This will allow each of us to make our personal contribution to helping veterans in need.
