Memo of a patient who received dental treatment using dental implants

Recommendations for the patient after implantation surgery After the surgical intervention, the following recommendations must be followed:

1. Eating is possible 2-3 hours after the operation; it is not recommended to rinse your mouth for 24 hours.
2. Pain sensations that arise 1-1.5 hours after the operation are normal. They can be relieved with painkillers (as prescribed by the attending physician). The first dose of the drug is possible 1-1.5 hours after the operation, then - as the pain arises, up to 3-4 times a day.
3. Minor bleeding is normal during the first 24 hours after surgery. Bleeding can be stopped by compression (biting, pressing a sterile gauze pad to the wound) with simultaneous application of cold for 20 minutes. If severe bleeding continues, you should contact your doctor.
4. The day after the operation, swelling will appear, which will increase for three days, and on the 4th-5th day it will begin to subside. To reduce swelling, it is recommended to apply cold to the area corresponding to the intervention for the first three to five hours after the operation (hold ice for 10 minutes, then a break for 15 minutes, then ice again, and so on).
5. The day after surgery and for the next 7 days, it is recommended to rinse your mouth with 0.05% chlorhexidine solution (without dilution) after eating (3-4 times a day).
6. For 10-12 days after surgery, it is necessary to follow a liquid diet. It is not recommended to chew on the side of the operation. Brush your teeth with special care. Avoid physical activity, as well as taking a hot bath, visiting a bathhouse, or sauna. Do not smoke or drink alcohol. To improve healing, apply balms and gels for gums containing antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing components to the surgical wound twice a day (as prescribed by your doctor).
7. For the next 2 weeks, eat soft, not hot or spicy foods.
8. For 1 month after the operation, refrain from flying, diving and scuba diving.
9. Attend your appointment with your doctor as prescribed.

Recommendations for the patient after sinus lift surgery (in addition to recommendations after implantation surgery)

1. For two weeks you must not blow your nose, and you can only sneeze with your mouth open;
2. Sleep on a high pillow (for two weeks);
3. Avoid sudden head movements;
4. In the first 2-3 days after surgery, minor nosebleeds are normal.
